This mapbook was first published in 1977 and it's main goal is to help people finding streets and buildings,thus its compact size has made it easy for carrying around over the years. It was the first guidebook to include bus routes for the convenience of the people taking bus. At that time, the Territories was at its initial stage of development, which was also recorded in our mapbook, becaming a big feature. Other important information includes the transportation of the land and sea, government departments, hospitals, schools, housing estates, buildings, cinemas, hotels, the general environment of Hong Kong and tourist sites. These are important for the study of Hong Kong life in the past.
